It is a daunting task for a patient to undergo a procedure, however big or small. In my experience, the fear is mostly of the unknown.
Frequently, I have found that patients receive incomplete information about the procedure, which further compounds the patients' mental anguish. In my opinion, understanding the procedure, is the half the battle won for the patients. Towards the same, I have compiled information leaflets for my patients to read and understand, to help them cope with the planned procedures. Every procedure will be preceded by a consult which would include providing this information. If, however, you would like to access the information again, I have made it available as downloadable documents, which you can read in your own time.
Some patients prefer a more in depth understanding of the procedure, and to enable them I have provided access to some advanced videos on my YouTube channel on various topics that you may find useful.
Please find attached below copies of information leaflets on various topics which may suit the procedure you are about to have. A copy of this may already have been sent to you following your IRad clinic consultation

IRad allows performing procedures through an even smaller "pinhole", with minimal internal damage and close monitoring with imaging
The type of anaesthesia is decided by a variety of factors during a procedure and some procedures require deeper anaesthesia, which can be arranged with our anaesthetists.
Different treatment modalities have different advantages and disadvantages. While IRad is very good as a minimally invasive modality, there are limitations due to various factors, one of which is size of lesion to to be treated. Please discuss all treatment options with your clinician or ask to see a Intervention radiologist. Each patient is different and has specific requirements that affect available treatment options.
